“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces; I would still plant my apple tree.”
― Martin Luther―
Planting a tree is a great way to help the environment! Even if you plant just one, it will help to clean the air, filter water, absorb carbon, create shade, give birds a place to build a nest, enrich the soil, and provide food and shelter for small creatures. And that’s just the short list of the many benefits of trees. So, we went to the Yatigalpotta area on the 4th of February 2020 with a few other organizations to plant 50 plants on our Independence Day theme. As expected, the trees were planted in the Yatigalpotta Primary School premises and the donation of the plants to the Yatigalpotta Grama Niladhari Society was very successful. We also thank the Directors, Members of all the voluntary organizations, Helping Sri Lanka Children’s, Leo Club of Thalangama golden city, Leo Club of Colombo Millennium, Chaaya foundation, Special Olympics Serendib, Sinawata Para Kiyamu, joined hands with us.
